School Visits

In his seminal work, Experience and Education, John Dewey wrote “there is no such thing as educational value in the abstract. The notion that some subjects and methods and that acquaintance with certain facts and truths possess educational value in and of themselves is the reason why traditional education reduced the material of education so largely to a diet of predigested materials.” It is for these reasons that the Hanahau‘oli School PDC hosts opportunities for educators, researchers, scholars, and community members to engage in professional learning by visiting and experiencing Hanahau‘oli during the regular school day. Each school visit experience is designed especially for the visiting group in collaboration with the PDC. To see our Joyous Work in action, please submit a request on our Visit the PDC page.
