Application timeline
Application for the 2024-2025 school year is currently closed.
Mahalo for considering Hanahauʻoli for your child. Our primary entry point is Junior Kindergarten or Grades 1 through 6 on a space-available basis. Openings for Kindergarten are filled from a wait pool of JK applications from the previous year. We do not accept Kindergarten applications.
For Junior Kindergarten applicants for the 2025-2026 school year, children must be born between July 1, 2020 and August 31, 2021.
SEP 2024
Online applications for the 2025-2026 school year will open on September 1, 2024 through November 30, 2024. Interested families are encouraged to register for campus tours which will take place on Wednesdays in October and November. Additional information, including links, will be available by September.

Campus tours every Wednesday at 8:45 am and 10:00 am
Sep - Dec
"Talk Story" about your child and family with the Director of Admissions. This conversational visit is offered to all applicant parents. A scheduling link will be sent once an application is submitted.
Jan 31, 2025
Confidential Teacher Reference Reports (CTRR) are due by January 31. Once you have submitted your application online, download the CTRR fillable pdf, complete the information on the top of the page, attach your electronic signature, and email it to your child’s current teacher. The teacher will complete the CTRR, electronically sign it, and email it to admisssions@hanahauoli.org. Alternatively, you may give the teacher a signed paper copy of the CTRR with a stamped envelope addressed to Admissions, Hanahau‘oli School, 1922 Makiki Street, Honolulu, 96822.
Addionally, please submit your child’s current progress report or report card to Hanahau‘oli Admissions (admissions@hanahauoli.org) by January 31.
JAN-FEB 2025
Interviews for Junior Kindergarten and Grades 1 - 4 will be held on several Saturday mornings in January and February 2025. Half-day interview sessions during a school day will be scheduled for Grades 5 - 6 applicants. Additional information will be provided to applicant families.

Financial Aid applications for the 2025-26 school year are due for applying students. Please see the Financial Aid FAQs for more information.
APR 2025
If all documents and the application fee are received by the deadline, a decision letter regarding applications to the 2025-26 school year will be mailed in early April 2025.
