Online via Zoom

Cost: Free!

Join us for the final Social Justice Educators Community Gathering of the year, now on Wednesday, April 16, for an Educator Talk Story session featuring a group of speakers who will provide thoughts, updates, and clarification on teaching for justice in this particular moment. The panel includes Hawaiʻi State House Representative and former social studies teacher Amy Perruso, along with a member of the volunteer researcher group Hawaiʻi Scholars for Education, Justice and Diversity. In addition to sharing information and resources, there will be a Q&A session with the speakers. Register here to submit your question and receive the Zoom meeting link.

This series of online gatherings is focused on social justice education in Hawaiʻi for those who are:

  • in a role supporting diversity, equity, inclusion, or belonging at school

  • on a committee exploring such issues

  • teaching social justice content in classes

  • engaged in advocacy or activism around social justice education

  • or are interested in learning more about the work others are doing toward these ends.

A component of the Social Justice Education in Hawaiʻi Project offered by Hanahauʻoli School and the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa College of Education, these informal gatherings are offered at no cost thanks to the generosity of Jana and Howard Wolff.
